Who are we and what do we do?

The Family Therapy training Network (FTTN), is a multidisciplinary group of professionals, whose members are amongst the most experienced family therapists and family therapy trainers in Scotland and the North of England.

The members of FTTN have been, and remain, the only Scottish based providers of academically-accredited, post-graduate professional training in family therapy and systemic practice. The services provided are one of only eight courses in the UK where successful participants are eligible to register as accredited Systemic Psychotherapists on completion.

FTTN and its trainers have a strong reputation for the quality and rigour of its training and for its commitment to trainees as adult learners. Through the provision of Continuing Professional Development training days the business is also proactive in maintaining a supportive network to all trainees.

Uniquely, as a result of continuing relationships with trainees, FTTN can draw on a wide range of expertise in specific fields when designing and delivering training.

The network of relationships and support that has been built up over many years allow the business to be “greater than the sum of its individual parts”.

The story so far!

THE FAMILY THERAPY TRAINING NETWORK (FTTN) began in June 2012 when it was set up as a Consortium Co-operative. In August 2015 FTTN became a registered Scottish Charity.

Our Charity is governed by a Board of Directors who are elected by our members.

We deliver the only professionally (Association of Family Therapy) and academically-accredited post-graduate training in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice in Scotland.

Committed to the principles of public service, our multidisciplinary members continue to work in the NHS, social services and the voluntary sector as well as contributing to training the next generation of Scottish professionals.
